And I would like to thank spit-up and pee-pee for this photo session. Without both happening in huge gushes almost simultaniously while being changed this afternoon, there would have never been a need for a naked baby. When life hands you lemons...

We visited my sister Leah again today. Here is Letty's cousin Anna holding her.


I couldn't resist.. Claire has a little doll crib in the living room and it looked JUST about Letty-size. She fit quite nicely:

Claire thought it was an excellent idea. Although this will only add to the fact that Claire thinks Letty is a baby doll!


Here is Violet asleep on the couch a few nights ago. I thought she looked especially sweet.

Naked Baby!

I'm a whole MONTH old!!

Holy cow!! I can't believe she's already a month old! Look out tomorrow for her college graduation pics.

So. Violet has decided that she will smile on PURPOSE, but only about once a day and only for me. Although I am flattered (and consider it my payment for 9 months of toting her around in my belly), I tried this morning to capture the elusive Eyes-Open-Smile on camera. I got close...


And then just about got it...

Letty Meets her Uncle Trent

Jon's brother Trent came in from Denver to meet his niece for the first time - we have already hired him to take care of Violet in the evenings as he has already figured out how to quiet her crying. :) Yay! Next stop - diaper changes.

Friday Picture Time!

Letty has been spending time in her Boppy pillow in the mornings while I get ready. She is quite happy to stare at her Sunshine toy for about 10 minutes or so.


Today we got all bundled up and went over to her friend Eli's house (and to see Kara & Brian too!). She got to wear her nifty new hoodie. I think she likes it.




"All these photos have gotten me sooo tired!" And since sleeping is her favorite pastime, off she went to dreamland...

Happy Valentines Day from Letty!

An outing...

My wonderful sister Leah volunteered to babysit Violet this weekend, so we headed over there Friday night. Jon and I went out for an early Valentines Dinner and Leah, Joel and the kids all got to play with Violet. Here is Ethan holding her (he does an excellent job - of course he's had lots of practice with two little sisters!) and Anna.


Uncle Mike sent Violet her first "Skater Onsie" - we'll have her on the ramps in no time!

Adventures of a 2 Week Old

Violet has been busy! :)

First, she used her pouch for the first time. She kind of liked being all snuggled up, and I could carry her around and have both hands free. Plus it's rather stylish. This was right after I took it off - another "pea in a pod" moment...


And at Bath #3 she has decided that maybe all that warm water isn't so bad after all.

All bundled up and ready for a car ride. Yesterday we had a doctor's appointment (still gaining weight!) and today we went to visit Millbrook and to the fabric store. We're officially MOBILE!!

Tummy Time & Nursery Update

Violet gets some "Tummy Time" every day now. She actually rather likes it. She curls up into a little ball and lays there. I think that means she likes it, anyway! Here she is on the quilt that Oma made for her...


And we finally have a GIRLY looking nursery! Her bedding arrived yesterday. It is so cute!

Tub Baths & Other Things...

Hurray! Violet's umbilical cord stump fell off the other day, so now she can have TUB BATHS! We were hoping she might like them a little better... no such luck! She did still like her head washed, but the rest looked like this:

All dried off and happy with Dad.

"Can we just SKIP the baths and go right to the cuddling??"


She gets some REALLY fuzzy hair when it's all clean! So cute.
