Violet is 5 Months!

Here are some pictures from a fun experiment with mirrors.

Now that the Farmer's Market is open, Violet is learning the finer points of vegetable buying. She choose these herself.

She just learned how to grab her toes... they do generally go directly into her mouth.

Here is Violet with her very favorite step-Aunts. Sarah is in town visiting from Minneapolis (on the left), and Erin is on the right.

Outside on a waaarm summer day.

Letty has learned to screech. She sounds a little like a dolphin, and a little like a cat that has had its tail stepped on. She apparently LOVES to hear the sound of her voice! Now she does this all the time. It's pretty funny!

A Father's Day Visit to the Cottage

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there!

We took yet another trip this weekend - this one was closer to home! Letty finally got to visit our cottage on Glen Lake (near Traverse City). Here are Letty and I - if only you could see the beautiful sunset behind us!

Attack of the Chin-Sucking Baby!

Letty dips her feet in the lake. It was actually pretty warm! I think she liked the sand...

Two tiny Letty-sized footprints.

We are proud to say that our cottage is VERY "cottagey" - complete with teal shag-carpet on the main floor, and this lovely selection out on the porch. We couldn't take a trip up there without a picture of it!

Violet got to hang out with her cousins on Friday night and Saturday. Here she is with Claire who finally gets to hold her! We have no doubt that they are going to be the bestest of friends.

"I Love Glen Lake!"

Letty in front of the infamous "Sleeping Alligator" hills across from our place. Do you see 'em?? Plus this is her newest thing - seeing exactly how many fingers she can suck on at the same time. Six seems to be the magic number! Yup, I think she's teething! No more toothless smiles for long!

We also got to see my grandparents again - here is Violet with her Papa.

Violet and Papa's hands

Wait... this isn't a picture of LETTY!! But we thought we'd throw one in here of us. Can you see why our kid is so cute? She got it from US!! Ha ha ha. Just kidding. We have no idea where she came from. We say that about every day!!

A gorgeous sunset on Friday night.

And our newest video... this one I like call "Remember to Clear Off the Table Before Trying Any Baby Stunts" :)
*No wine glasses were harmed in the making of this video!

So... tilt your head to the left and watch! (sorry about that!!)

Busy Summery Weekend

Just in time for Father's Day, here is a cute picture of Violet holding tight to her Daddy's hands. She LOVES standing up and thinks she is quite "Hot Stuff"

Flying through the air with the greatest of ease!!

Checking out how a nap in the grass feels for the first time:

Hanging out in the front yard.

The backpack now also doubles as another thing to put Violet in when we need our hands free. This was taken while I cooked dinner. She loves it!

And what are bath pictures without a MOHAWK? Violet was less excited about the mohawk and much more intersted in her TOES. I think she just figured out that they are attached to her, and if she plays her cards right, she may get one in her MOUTH! :)

4 Months

Here are some pictures from our 4 month photo sessions.

She pretty much BEGGED me to put her back in that darn teacup!! So I did. And she smiled.

Let me tell you how much I LOOOVE soft snuggly blankets!

Jon has been wanting to put a baby - any baby - in a backpack and carry it around. I am glad he finally gets the chance to tote our very own kid. Violet loves it!

Hello Mountains!

We headed up to a cabin near Breckenridge on Thursday. It was SO COOL! It was right in the middle of the woods with a fabulous view of the mountains and trees from the deck. It looked just like a postcard! Here is Violet enjoying the view:

Here is what it looked like:

On the way up, we stopped at a Biker Bar called Kerrmits. Here are Mike and Letty. The are enjoying the heavy-metal music selections together.

What happens at the biker bar, STAYS at the biker bar.

It got pretty chilly up at the mountains, which just gave us a good excuse to try on all of Violet's hats that were too big this winter. Here she is all cozy warm with her Daddy.

Sporting her rodeo shirt (thanks Grandma!)

And riding the pony. The owners of the cabin have two little girls, and they had LOTS of fun stuff to play with!

Daddy got a little hungry waiting for our lunch to come...

Heather and Trent give Letty lots of smooches.

Here is Violet and her cousin Tobin. Violet was less than thrilled about having her photo taken at this moment, and Tobin kept looking at her like "What the heck is YOUR problem?" it was pretty cute!

We went out for dinner our last night in Denver. Jon and Trent got the "Large" sized Margarita. It was almost as big as Letty!!
