More Denver Fun

Letty experienced her first pool party here in Denver on Memorial Day. We went to visit some of Heather's friends at their apartment's pool for a cookout. At first, Violet thought the water was kind of fun:


Then she tested out the waters with Uncle Trent. So far, so good.


But sadly, she was NOT thrilled with the actual swimming part of the pool party.


Safely back in Uncle Trent's arms, everything is a-okay again!


Here is Violet and the other baby at the party, Holden. They both zonked out at exactly the same time!


Today we went to the Denver Art Museum and walked around downtown. Violet spent some time viewing the art in her pouch. She was really good and quiet in the Museum. She spent a lot of time chewing on my arm ;)

Oh yes, this is Trent bravely changing a diaper. He did fantastic! This one was easy. The second one he changed was a little more "hazardous" ;)

Violet on Vacation

Ha! And you thought you'd all be rid of me for a few days! Not so fast! I figured out how to post from afar! :)

We're in Denver for 10 days visiting Jon's brothers and seeing all the sites. So far everything has been smooth sailing!

Here is a great picture of Letty with her uncles and dad. So cute! You can tell she thinks her uncles are pretty cool. From left to right it's Mike, Trent holding Letty and Jon.


Today we even got to go to Letty's 2nd cousin Tobin's first birthday party! He is ADORABLE! We were so glad to finally meet him. Tobin is "Cousin Tim" and Jess's son. Here are all the cousins: Trent, Tim holding Tobin, Mike holding Letty, and Jon. Mike has taken to holding Letty like a Josten to Skateboarding. And geesh - you sure can't tell all these guys are RELATED, can you? Ha ha ha...


Letty loves her "Aunt" Heather! Trent and Heather were nice enough to let us stay with them. So far I don't think we've totally annoyed them, although we have overtaken the entire house with baby stuff!

The two resident cats are still getting used to having a baby around. Oscar is the most brave and has gotten the closest to Letty. Otis still thinks she is pretty scary. Here is Oscar checking out Letty...


p.s. Violet did GREAT on the plane! We had a direct flight from GR to Denver and she hardly made a peep! She even took a nap for about half the flight so *I* got to nap too! Our fingers are crossed that she's just as good on the way home.

Letty Meets her Great-Grandparents!

Violet finally got to meet one set of Great Grandparents (we still have to meet Jon's grandma in New Jersey!) - it was so cool to see my grandma and Letty!


Violet thought "Papa" was QUITE hilarious.

We were sad this week to say goodbye to our good friends Dusty & Lexy. They are moving to Boston and we're all really going to miss them!


I was minding my own business at the computer the other day holding Letty when she started sucking on my arm :) It was quite funny. And a change from her sucking on her fingers.


We're leaving today for Denver for 10 days to visit Jon's brothers Trent and Mike. We're sooo excited! I'll try to post from there, but if not, watch out 'cause that first week of June is going to be CRAZY with posts! Don't miss us too much!

She's getting soooo big!

Letty has officially graduated to being able to play in her excersaucer. She only lasts a few minutes at a time, but she does seem to "get" how to play with some of the stuff. It's really funny! Here she is... happily oblivious to the BIG BLACK DOG about to give her kisses!!


Here is a demonstration of her intense concentration required to push the buttons so they light up. She whacks away at it as if she gets what she's doing.


And what would this blog be without NUDIE PICTURES!!! Yes, you can indeed catch a glimpse of her adorably tiny behind in the corner of this picture. We did pretty good during this photo shoot - she only piddled once!


She's getting so much stronger - now she can push herself up on her arms and doesn't mind being on her tummy.

Violet got to visit her honorary cousins Hope (18 months) and Hally (3) this week. They are my friend Abby's adorable girls. Abby and I have been friends since we were born and have spent many vacations and trips to Florida together with our families. It is so cool to hang out now with our kids!

Happy Mothers Day

Violet would like to say "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY" to all the mommies out there!

Here she is perched in her own Letty-sized teacup. She actually is quite happy to hang out and have her picture taken, but she spends 89% of the time looking down examining her toes. Luckily we captured a few shots of her looking up!




A cute tummy-time shot. She can officially roll from her stomach to her back!


And here she is showing off her new dyed diapers. I got sick of having them all the plain old off-white, so now she has either purple or pink to choose from. I even tie-dyed a few of the pink ones, and threw in some t-shirts so she can have an entire ensemble. Aw.

If you ain't Dutch, you ain't MUCH!

Letty celebrated her Dutch heritage this weekend by going to Tulip Time in Holland with her cousins. They all had a good time watching the Klompen dancers, seeing allll the tulips, and going to Windmill Island. She even got her own pair of wooden shoes!


Jon takes care of Letty every other Friday. This is how they spend their afternoons...

Apparently Letty has a lot to say. Too bad we can't QUITE understand what it is! Here is a cute video of her talking:






She has been spending a LOT of time playing on her playmat. We prop her up in her Boppy pillow so she doesn't spit up as much... she is really figuring out how to swat at all the toys, and of course this is the perfect vantage point to stare at her most favorite thing - the ceiling fan!
